Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging, one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions via Zoom or our proprietary LMS platform.
- Develop and customize lesson plans tailored to each student's specific learning style and academic needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to parents and guardians.
- Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with students to explain difficult concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning speeds and abilities.
- Attend mandatory training webinars and keep certifications up to date.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, English, Math, Science, or a related field (Teaching certification is a plus but not always required).
- Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring students in a remote or traditional setting.
- High-speed, reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Strong proficiency with technology, including video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams) and digital learning platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students quickly.
- Must reside in Virginia Beach, VA, or be willing to commute to our Virginia Beach hub for occasional training.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
