Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 and small-group virtual tutoring sessions in mathematics, science, English, or social studies
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with DCPS curriculum standards and student learning objectives
- Utilize our interactive digital platform (video conferencing, shared whiteboards, etc.) to create immersive learning experiences
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide detailed progress reports to parents
- Collaborate with academic advisors to address learning gaps and implement intervention strategies
- Maintain accurate session logs and documentation using our proprietary tutoring management system
- Participate in ongoing professional development workshops to enhance pedagogical techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or subject-specific field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of formal tutoring or classroom teaching experience
- DC teaching certification or equivalent credentials (e.g., Praxis scores)
- Expertise in at least one core subject area (Math/Science/ELA/Social Studies)
- Proficiency with virtual teaching tools (Zoom, Google Classroom, interactive platforms)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles
- Background check clearance and reliable high-speed internet connection
- Availability for evening/weekend sessions (minimum 15 hours/week)
