Role Overview
As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for listening to audio files and typing the content into a digital document. You must ensure that the transcription is accurate, grammatically correct, and adheres to the specific formatting guidelines required by our clients. This role requires a keen eye for detail and exceptional time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe Audio: Listen to audio recordings and convert them into written text with high accuracy and speed.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency to ensure a final product ready for publication.
- Format Compliance: Adhere to specific client guidelines regarding document formatting, header/footer placement, and pagination.
- Deadline Management: Manage time effectively to meet daily and weekly transcription quotas without sacrificing quality.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards when handling sensitive medical and legal data.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize various transcription software and hardware, including foot pedals and headphones, efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associateās or Bachelorās degree preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in transcription or related administrative roles is highly desired.
- Typing Speed: Excellent typing speed with a minimum of 60 WPM required.
- Language Skills: Strong command of the English language, including a deep understanding of grammar and vocabulary.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with specialized transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities without direct supervision.
