Responsibilities
- Convert audio recordings from healthcare professionals into clear, accurate, and grammatically correct text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure zero errors in medical terminology, spelling, and punctuation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance guidelines at all times.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and hardware efficiently to meet daily production quotas.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify unclear audio or terminology.
- Stay updated on evolving medical terminology and transcription technologies.
- Submit completed transcripts within the established turnaround timeframes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- High typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with exceptional accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription platforms (e.g., Zoomerang, Emdat).
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Associate degree or certificate in Medical Transcription/Health Information Technology preferred.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
