Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule patient appointments using advanced scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate and communicate with medical providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal appointment availability.
- Receive and process patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate information and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain and update patient records with the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Handle check-in and check-out processes, verifying patient demographics and insurance information.
- Assist in the preparation of daily schedules and manage cancellations or no-shows effectively.
- Collaborate with the front office team to maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a scheduling, administrative, or customer service role within a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Proficiency with computer systems and scheduling software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, or holidays as required by the department.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes is a plus.
