Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the scheduling system for medical appointments, ensuring optimal utilization of provider time and resources.
- Coordinate with patients, providers, and staff to schedule appointments, reschedule as needed, and address any scheduling conflicts.
- Verify patient insurance information and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to appointments.
- Communicate appointment reminders to patients via phone, email, or patient portal to reduce no-shows.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding scheduling, insurance, and pre-appointment preparations in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth operations and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a Scheduling Coordinator or in a similar administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare compliance regulations is a plus.
