Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures using superconducting qubits and topological systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms for optimization problems in logistics and pharmaceuticals
- Lead research in quantum error correction techniques to achieve >99.9% fidelity
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical supercomputing infrastructure
- Create quantum simulation frameworks for molecular modeling and drug discovery
- Author patents and publish research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Mentor junior quantum engineers and establish departmental best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum computing experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or equivalent
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and control electronics
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, color, etc.)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum data analysis
- Ability to secure US government security clearance (if required)
