Responsibilities
- Transcribe Medical Dictation: Accurately listen to and convert audio recordings of medical reports into clear, written text.
- Format and Edit: Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to specific formatting guidelines and medical style guides (e.g., AAMT/AMA).
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, medical terminology accuracy, and syntax errors.
- HIPAA Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
- Client Communication: Resolve unclear dictation or formatting issues by reaching out to healthcare providers when necessary.
- Deadline Management: Meet daily and weekly productivity targets while ensuring timely delivery of reports.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is mandatory; completion of a medical transcription program is a plus.
- Typing Speed: Proficient typing speed of 65+ words per minute (WPM).
- Medical Knowledge: Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and audio transcription software.
- Environment: Ability to maintain a distraction-free, quiet workspace at home.
