Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe medical dictation from audio files into written text using industry-standard transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Use appropriate medical terminology, abbreviations, and acronyms as dictated by hospital protocols.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on unclear dictation when necessary.
- Meet daily productivity quotas and quality assurance standards consistently.
- Stay updated on evolving medical coding and transcription guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription, Health Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60-70 WPM).
- Must have a dedicated, noise-free home office setup with a high-speed internet connection.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and syntax.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
