Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize provider schedules across multiple departments using advanced EHR systems
- Coordinate complex patient appointments, including multi-specialty referrals and urgent care prioritization
- Serve as primary communication liaison between patients, providers, and clinical staff
- Implement scheduling protocols to maximize provider utilization and minimize patient wait times
- Monitor and resolve scheduling conflicts while maintaining HIPAA compliance standards
- Analyze scheduling metrics to identify efficiency improvements and implement data-driven solutions
- Train new staff on scheduling protocols and system functionalities
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in medical scheduling or healthcare coordination
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate sensitive situations
- Advanced knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in scheduling data
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification preferred
