Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain complex calendars for medical staff and providers, ensuring optimal scheduling efficiency.
- Coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and consultations while managing patient flow to minimize wait times.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone, email, and in-person to confirm appointments and address scheduling inquiries.
- Process patient registration and insurance verification information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and emergencies by coordinating with other departments to adjust appointments as needed.
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems with the most current scheduling data.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support the front office team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, administrative assistance, or customer service.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and scheduling software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driverβs license and reliable transportation may be required.
