Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated recordings made by healthcare professionals and transcribe them into medical reports, correspondence, and other documents.
- Identify inaccuracies in transcribed reports and edit for grammar, punctuation, and style consistency.
- Use speech recognition software to expedite the transcription process while maintaining high accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA privacy standards to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Proofread finished documents for typos, missing information, and grammatical errors.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification when necessary.
- Manage high-volume workloads within strict deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription is highly preferred.
- Proven typing speed of 65+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency with speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Commitment to maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
