In this role, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate patient records by converting voice-recorded reports into written text. We value accuracy, speed, and adherence to healthcare compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Convert voice-recorded medical reports into written text using speech recognition technology.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Adhere to strict healthcare compliance standards and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Format reports according to departmental and organizational guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or urgent reports.
- Maintain strict deadlines and productivity metrics.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Meditech).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
