Responsibilities
- Listen to and accurately transcribe audio recordings of medical consultations, surgeries, and examinations into text format.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness, adherence to medical terminology, and compliance with style guides.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient data privacy.
- Utilize specialized medical transcription software and tools to manage workflow efficiently.
- Meet strict daily and weekly deadlines while maintaining high accuracy rates.
- Communicate effectively with team leads to clarify ambiguous audio or urgent requests.
- Stay updated on the latest medical coding and documentation practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (WPM) with high accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Previous experience in medical transcription is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
