Responsibilities
- Convert audio recordings into clear, accurate written documents using specialized software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness and strict adherence to medical terminology.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding patient and client data.
- Research and verify unfamiliar medical terms, acronyms, and proper nouns to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to resolve ambiguities in audio files.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance targets.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for medical transcription.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription (1+ years preferred).
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 words per minute).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription tools.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home workspace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
