Responsibilities
- Coordinate complex multi-specialty appointment schedules for 15+ physicians using Epic EMR scheduling system
- Optimize provider schedules to maximize patient throughput while maintaining 15-minute average wait times
- Manage appointment rescheduling, cancellations, and no-show protocols with 95%+ attendance rate
- Coordinate cross-departmental resource allocation for surgical suites, diagnostic equipment, and exam rooms
- Implement real-time schedule adjustments based on patient acuity and provider availability
- Generate weekly utilization reports and identify optimization opportunities for leadership review
- Train new staff on scheduling protocols and system best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical scheduling experience in multi-specialty clinic or hospital setting
- Expert proficiency in Epic EMR scheduling modules and calendar management tools
- Proven ability to manage complex scheduling constraints with minimal supervision
- Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with patients, providers, and support staff
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting utilization metrics and implementing improvements
- Ability to maintain composure during high-volume periods and urgent schedule changes
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required
- Certified Medical Scheduler (CMS) credential preferred
