Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate patient appointments via phone, email, and patient portal with precision and efficiency.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled visits to ensure smooth check-in processes.
- Update patient demographics, medical history, and contact information accurately in the EMR system.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-visit instructions, preparation, and any necessary follow-ups.
- Assist in reducing no-show rates through proactive reminder calls and personalized communication.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff, nurses, and front desk personnel to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts professionally and promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, reception, or administrative support.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure.
