Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate complex appointment schedules for multiple healthcare providers, ensuring optimal utilization of time slots.
- Act as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries regarding appointments, procedures, and facility services.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and gather necessary demographic information prior to visits.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust calendars efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
- Assist in the preparation of daily schedules and ensure all required documentation is filed correctly.
- Handle patient confirmations via phone, email, and text to reduce no-show rates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or certification in medical office administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a scheduling, administrative, or customer service role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
